“Ask the Couples” Game

One fun thing we like to do as authors is ask our characters questions. Especially when the couples are established at the end of their story. The book couples will pick three questions to answer:

Teka Legacy

Abraham Teka & Phoebe Randall

How did you meet your spouse?
Phoebe: His parents’ wake but Abe was understandably preoccupied.
Abraham: You brought a fruit basket. I remember.
Phoebe: Aww, ok. What were you going to say was our first meeting?
Abraham: Met after you nearly ran Junior over.
Phoebe: … an honest accident.

Who said “I love you” first?
Phoebe: Abe did. The sibs had to strong-arm him though.
Abraham: Strong-arm, no. Encourage, yes.

What is your spouse’s love language?
Phoebe: Abe is an acts-of-service guy.
Abraham: Quality time. Words of affirmation. Gifts…
Phoebe: Just one is fine, Honey.

My Sugar in Sugar Land

Tonye Banigo & Ibelema Pepple

Where did you take your first trip as a couple?
Ibelema: Does eloping to Nigeria count?
Tonye: Nope. I took you to Bali for our honeymoon.
Ibelema: … a year later. My traveling with you to Nigeria counts.

What’s your spouse’s biggest guilty pleasure?
Tonye: Binging on international daily dramas with 50+ episodes.
Ibelema: Netflix and chill.
Tonye: Emphasis on the chill.

What’s your spouse’s best quality?
Ibelema: His heart.
Tonye: If I have to pick only one… Her mind.
Ibelema: Well done, Mr. Banigo.

Queen of Trades

Daniel Keshi & Eden Kane

What was your first impression of your spouse?
Eden: I absolutely love doing these. High-brow, arrogant snob.
Daniel: Lost.
Eden: Lost as in?
Daniel: You’d come to the wrong place.

Is your spouse a morning bird or night owl?
Eden: Daniel is a night owl but functions well all day.
Daniel: Eden is a morning bird. Out by midnight.
Eden: Like regular human beings.

Where did you and your spouse have your first kiss?
Daniel: J&T’s wedding.
Eden: It was mind-blowing. Didn’t want it to end.
Daniel: You ran away.
Eden: We were about to get caught, dude.
